History of Karamalah baYahauah

The Elder Vampire

Karamalah baYahauah was born in the Shomer universe before the collapse of the Chronoverse. She was born as her father’s firstborn and someone he and his mother took pride in. She was her mother’s second born with Raphael baYadabaq serving as her older brother. She was born with copper skin and hair that defied gravity. She was born after her mother had attempted the angel experiment and created Lilim instead and thus she was born as a Lilin too.

However, the thought of his children barring a child together incited anger from her grandfather, Iah. His son being his continual adversary and then on top of that defying him by having a child with his full blood sibling was too much for him to bare and so to punish them both he cursed her until the end of time. The curse that Iah placed on her turned her skin white as snow, her hair became limp and hung long, she could no longer sleep normal, and had an unquenchable thirst for blood.

The curse angered Yahauah and Naāmah, but knowing that nothing they did could reverse their father’s curse they decided to start distancing themselves from their own daughter. The feelings of neglect and abandonment caused her to act out and reign terror on Kigal in the Shomer universe. This was also during the period of time the Sumerians existed in their universe as an early prototype of what would become huemans later.

The Sumerians called her Edimmu or Ekimmu. They considered her a ghost because of her pale white skin and felt her vengeful wrath across their community. She was thought to cause disease and inspire criminal behavior in the living, but could be appeased with offerings. Edimmu was seen as a spirit that sucked the life out of the susceptible and the sleeping, especially amongst the young.

An (Iah) was angered by her actions and commanded his children, Enlil (Yahauah) and Ninmaḫ (Naāmah) to put a stop to her antics. They both refused and told him to do it himself since he was the cause of her defiance. Yahayah was going to smite an entire country that Edimmu had taking up providence in but Ki (Ash) calmed him down. This is when Yadayan made an offer to take Edimmu under his watch so he may guide her towards the righteous path.

Vampires vs Werewolves

Throughout the time of Carmilla growing up, before she was even cursed she and her cousin, Marduk, watched their fathers battle with each other and maintain a constant fight. That battle continued and was passed down to them as the children of the two.

Marduk had been cursed by Iah too due to the transgressions of his parents turned into the first werewolf. However, it may have been intentional by Iah because the both of them were always at each others throats and it became a feud that was passed on to those they would turn into their species in the future.

However, when the Laniakea universe was created with the first hueman things would drastically change in their cousin battles. In the year 56 AD, Marduk would turn his first hueman, Lycaon of Arcadia, into a werewolf. In the year 476 AD, Carmilla would turn her first, Vlad Dracul III, into a vampire.

Their disease and fights would then spread rapidly across the lands of Laniakea and started an all out war between vampires and werewolves.

Wife of the Moon

Ningal or the Great Queen is her Mesopotamian goddess name. She was regarded as the wife of the moon god, Nanna. In Akkadian culture she was referred to as “Lady” (NIN) or “Mother” (AMA) of Ur. She and the city was compared to a mother and her child. In medical treatises the term “hand of Ningal” referred to an unidentified skin disease.

With the Egyptians she was known as Ruia, the wife of Khonsu and the mother of the High Priest of Sobek. With Khonsu she would give birth to the goddess of love known as Hathor. There aren’t many records of her time as Ruia.

The next empire to rise was that of the Phoenicians, to them she was known as Nikkal. She was seen as the spouse of the moon god, Kušuḫ. Under this name she was revered as the Mother of Vampires, goddess of darkness. Her name “Nikkal” means “great lady,” and she was often depicted as a young woman holding a sheaf of grain or standing beside a date palm, symbolizing fertility and abundance.

Nikkal was also associated with love and marriage, as well as with the protection of orchards and gardens. Worship of Nikkal was widespread in ancient Phoenicia, and she was often invoked by farmers and gardeners for a successful harvest and fertility of the land. During this time she would also come into knowledge of the Aeoliran Faith and join their order.

When the Greeks and Romans emerged, she was called Ártemis. She was the goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, nature, vegetation, childbirth, care of children, and chastity. To the Romans she was known as Diana. In later times, she was identified with Selene, the personification of the Moon. She was often said to roam the forests and mountains, attended by her entourage of nymphs.

The Celtic and Slavic people were the next to worship her. Under the Slavic peopple she was known as Devana, the goddess of wild nature, forests, hunting and the moon worshiped by the Western Slavs. To the Celts she was Rhiannon. The Celtic Moon Goddess Rhiannon was born at the first Moon Rise and is known as the Divine Queen of Faeries. She is the Goddess of fertility, rebirth, wisdom, magick, transformation, beauty, artistic inspiration and poetry.

By the Norse she was worshipped as the goddess Máni. She was the Moon personified in Germanic history. She is attested as the sister of of the personified sun, Sól. They also attest that she was followed by her husband Hjúki , the one returning to health.

Queen of the Gods

When Gilgamesh (Nimrod) established the City of Uruk (Babylon), the feud between her and Marduk would subside. She would take the name Ṣarpānītu (Sarpanit), meaning “creatress of seed”, with the Babylonians and become the spouse of Marduk. She would become the mother of a werepire and was associated with pregnancy among the people who worshipped them. At that time Marduk had established himself as king of the gods in the eyes of the Babylonians and she would become Queen.

Her wedding was overseen by The Maalik and her father, Yahauah, and Marduk’s father, Yanahar, had to both give gifts to solidify their commitment to set aside their war. Yahauah would give them the town Zarpan, named after his daughter’s claimed name. Yanahar would give her the title Ninabdubur, “lady of the sea foundation”, and give them dominion over a portion of the sea.
