History of Gishbanda

The Lord of the Good Tree

Gishbanda was born in the Mātušarrūtu universe before the collapse of the Chronoverse. He is the son of The Maalik and Šubur. He would become the husband of Gaphan the Eveningstar, sister of the Morningstar. Before he would venture to Turtle Island with his wife to avoid the Pyramid Wars, he would take up the banner of the House of Morningstar and spread the message of his brother-in-law across the distant lands and become known as the Morning-star of the Mesoamericans.

The story of his birth was a tragic one. His mother was obsessed with The Lord of Death, Kur, and allowed her obsession grow until she placed him under a spell so he would get her pregnant. After the spell wore off, The Maalik made sure she would not be able to see him at his temple anymore. However, once he was born Fandorah, The Guider would bring them to Qur so her adopted father could make a decision on what to do with them.

Gishbanda was accepted begrundingly as the son of The Maalik and given his own territory. However, he was placed in charge of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden in partnership with Dumuzid, the Morningstar who was placed as a gate guardian of the Garden of Eden. He has the ability to transform into a feathered serpent and was a god of vegetation.

The Feathered Serpent

After going to Mesoamerica to avoid the Pyramid wars, he would become known as Quetzalcōātl or the Feathered Serpent by the Nahuatl Aztecs. To them he was god of life, light and wisdom, lord of the day and the winds. Ruler of the West, from which he came.

Among the Aztecs, he was related to wind, Venus, Sun, merchants, arts, crafts, knowledge, and learning. He was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood. He would return to Qur after some time and take on the name of Zagreus during the era of the Graeco-Romans.
