History of Frumtaos

The Dark Gift

Frumtaos was crafted in the Qur universe before the collapse of the Chronoverse. After years of Fandorah being in Qur, The Maalik worried she would be lonely and so he forged a male companion for her from the dirt of Qur. The Maalik would name him Frum-, meaning “religious” or “pious”, -taos, meaning “place of red willows”. He serves as a messenger of The Maalik but is also Fandorah’s boyfriend who supports her in governing Shaykh, the land The Maalik gave to her when he adopted her.

In the era of the Mesopotamians, when he was created, he was known as Šubula the son-in-law of Nergal and husband of Tadmuštum. He was known as the god of dryness to them and was associated with the raining down of lightning in the dry deserts places.

Prometheus would then be given the titles The Croupier, god of gambling, and The Cicerone, god of antiquity upon his return to the underworld. Macaria would continue to call him by his Greek name but many of his followers would call him El Zephon or God of the North. This was in honor of him defying the gods of the overworld as a member of the underworld, and taking the throne of the heavens for himself.

He would become the controller of the hotels and casinos that existed inside of Shaykh, allowing for those placed in their charge to have some semblance of fun in the lands of Qur. Later he would also be placed over the antiques of Qur and the times of antiquity.

Titan of Fire

After he captured the Scepter of Heaven and during the days of the Greeks and Romans he would become known as Prometheus (“forethought”) and would be seen as a Titan and a god of fire. As Prometheus he was best known for defying the Olympian gods by taking fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology, knowledge, and, more generally, civilization.

Once Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, regained the Scepter of Heaven he condemned Prometheus to eternal torment for his transgression. Prometheus was bound to a rock, and an eagle—the emblem of Zeus—was sent to eat his liver. His liver would then grow back overnight, only to be eaten again the next day in an ongoing cycle.

Heeding the tears of Macaria, Hā́idēs would venture to the place of punishment for Prometheus and free him. This would anger Zeus and cause a war between Olympus and Hades.

God of Disorder

During the days of the Egyptians he was called Set (also spelled Swtẖ, Sutekh, and Seth). He was the god of deserts, storms, disorder, violence, and foreigners. He was lord of the Red Land (desert), where he was the balance to Hauron’s role as lord of the Black Land (fertile land). During his misguided choices he would kill Osiris by poison during a banquet so he could claim the lands of his father-in-law. This would lead to Isis bearing Hauron with Osiris and cause the first Pyramid War.

The Phoenicians would be the last to interact with him before in this form before he became seen as a god of knowledge. They called him Iškur, Hadad, Zephon, and Baʿal Ṣefōn; god of weather, hurricanes, storms, thunder, and rain. At times they would equate him with Baāl, rightfully so since he captured the Scepter of Heaven, as penance for his betrayal against Mūt, and was seen carrying the Thunderbolt of Zeus periodically.

By the Greeks he was called, Prometheus, meaning “forethought”. It was a mistranslation of his name Frumtaos, but he was a titan and god of fire. They equated his stealing of the Thunderbolt of Zeus as him taking fire from the heavens and bringing it to earth so humanity could build technology, knowledge, and civilization. He is seen as a champion of mankind and is also generally seen as the author of the human arts and sciences.

The last mighty kingdom would know him as Logi (meaning fire or flame) or Hálogi (meaning high flame). He is a jötunn and the personification of fire in the Norse annals. He would go on to marry fire giantess Glöð and she gave birth to their two beautiful daughters—Eisa and Eimyrja.
