History of Litānu Lokison

The World Serpent

Litānu Lokison was born in the Lafnaq universe before the collapse of the Chronoverse. He is the son of Sond and Yanahar baYahayah, during his days as Loki. He is the rival of Yahauah baYahayah who was born from a future version of his father, Yanahar, but then in the past would help a younger version of his father wage war against the lineage of Yahauah.

As the grandson of Yadabaq, he had many qualities of the dragons that once roamed the lands before the last kingdom. However, no one ever saw him transform into a humanoid form, but knew him as the beastly World Serpent. In an effort to prevent a prophecy that Thor was told about the end times he would wage war against Litānu as Jörmungandr. However, by doing so he would set that prophecy into motion as the magic of World Serpent and the power of Thor mixed and ripped open a time portal that knocked the Midgard Serpent into the past during the days of darkness.

In the lands of wonder and darkness he would befriend Uridimmu, who would later be known as Behemoth and Anzû who would become known as Ziz. He would also align himself with Ugallu, who would become known as the first Griffin.

The Sleeping Giant

After being struck down by Yahauah during his era as Zeus (Greeks) and Iūpiter (Romans), he would be sent to one of the Tartarus locations named Bagidah, the eighteenth territory of Qur. The territory is the resting and punishment place for souls who have committed treason and treacherous acts. The land is a frozen wasteland that is unforgiving to the souls that dwell there.

The territory was so cold that Litānu could do nothing but hibernate across the four lands of Caina, Atenora, Ptolomaea, and Judecca. When the time for the end comes, the frost of Bagidah will thaw and awaken the serpent to wage war against Šamyaza once again, along with the forces of darkness.

The World Serpent

Even though he was born during the era of the last kingdom, he would be knocked into the past from a thunderous strike by Thor. He would join forces with Yanahar (aka Enki or Yam) and become his servant in his battle against Yahauah (aka Enlil or Baāl). He would take on the name of Litānu (also spelled as Lotan, Lôtān, and Litan). His name meant “coiled,” in representation of his massive size. On several occassions he referred to the darkness as the love of his grandfather.

When the Egyptians rose to power, he would become known as Apep aka Aphoph (also spelled Aphōph) or Aphophis (also spelled Ápophis). He was the Lord of Chaos and embodied darkness and disorder and was the opponet of light and Maat (order and truth). Ra, as bringer of light, became his biggest opposer during this era as Ra rose to the role of King of the Heavens.

The Phoenicians would be the next kingdom to rise to power and they would know him as Līvyāṯān (also spelled Leviathan). He was seen as a sea serpent demon and rival to the Lord of the Heavens, Baāl. He was the embodiment of chaos, threatening to eat the damned when their lives were over.

As the Phoenicians died out and the Greeks began to rise he first would be known as Ouroboros (also spelled uroboros), a serpent so massive in size that it would eat it’s own tail. He became a symbol for eternal cyclic renewal or a cycle of life, death and rebirth. His snake skin-sloughing symbolized the transmigration of souls. Him biting its own tail is a fertility symbol: the tail is a phallic symbol and the mouth is a yonic or womb-like symbol.

The Greeks would later refer to him as Typhôn (also spelled Typhon), Typhōeús (also spelled Typhoeus), Typháōn (also spelled Typhaon), and Typhṓs (Typhos). He wsas a monstrous serpentine giant and one of the deadliest creatures in their eyes. Typhôn attempted to overthrow Zeus for the supremacy of the cosmos. The two fought a cataclysmic battle, which Zeus finally won with the aid of his thunderbolts. Defeated, he was cast into Tartarus (Bagidah).

During the last kingdom of the Norse, he was locked away in Bagidah in a frozen sleep. However, at the same time he was also being born by his mother Angrboða to his father Loki. He would be referred to as Jörmungandr (also spelled Jǫrmungandr) by the Norse people. They would call him Miðgarðsormr, meaning the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. He would later be knocked back into time by Thor’s mighty hammer and begin the cycle again.

His older self in Bagidah was seen as an unfathomably large sea serpent who dwelt in the world sea, encircling the earth (Midgard) and biting his own tail. Jörmungandr releasing its tail is one of the signs of the beginning of Ragnarök. During Ragnarök, Thor and Jörmungandr will fight each other to the death.
