History of Ezina

The Pure

Ezina was born in the Shomer universe before the collapse of the Chronoverse. She is a sukkal created by Yahayah and Yasharah. She was one of the goddesses of agriculture and was seen as a Triumvirate Force with The Scribe and Yamauat. Together with them she was seen as part of the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Ezina would welcome The Scribe as she dwelled within the overworld and Yamauat would welcome The Scribe as she dwelled in the underworld.

From the three of them became the patron mother goddesses of the θρησκεία Τριμάγισσαι (Threskeía Trimagissai) or Cult of the Three Witches. From their worship bloodlines would be born where three sisters would be the most powerful of their generation in their family and gain the rights to be worshipped as the leaders of their family’s branch.

The Farmer

Before the Great Exile she would leave her role as a goddess and start a resort farm. She took on the name of Karis and would operate the resort as a safe haven on an island for those who wanted to avoid the chaos of the divine beings on the earth.

After the Great Exile she would continue her work but no one would hear from her again. All records in The Athenaeum had no trace or evidence of her existence 1000 years after the Great Exile.

Goddess of Agriculture

When her creators ventured to the lands of Earth, she would take on the name of Ashnan. She was considered the goddess and personification of grain. She was also called Ezina-Kusu, and later her epithet would become Kusu. As Kusu she was seen as a purification goddess.

With the Egyptians she was known as Renenutet (also spelled Renenūtet, Ernūtet, Renen-wetet, and Renenet). She was a goddess of grain, grapes, nourishment, and the harvest. Originally, she appeared to the mortals as a woman with the head of a cobra. She was a “nurse” who took care of the pharoah from birth to death. She was also called “the mistress of provisions”.

When the Phoenicians took to power she would become known as Niki. Her name meant “Great Lady” and “Fruitful.” She was the Phoenician goddess of orchards and fruit. She was seen as very smart by those around her but also was a little naive in some things of the world.

When the Greeks and Romans emerged, she was called Dēmḗtēr (also spelled Demeter) and would later be called Dēṓ (also spelled Deo). She was the Olympian goddess of the harvest and agriculture, presiding over crops, grains, food, and the fertility of the earth. Although Demeter is mostly known as a grain goddess, she also appeared as a goddess of health, birth, and marriage, and had connections to the Underworld. To the Romans she was known as Ceres.
