History of Ušumgallu

Ušumgallu, the Great Dragon

Ušumgallu is a divine monster conceived by Abzû and Tiamat. She is one of the three horned snakes, along with the Bašmu and Mušmaḫḫū. Usually described as a lion-dragon demon, she has been identified with the four-legged, winged dragon. When they were drawn into the Shomer universe before the emergence of the Chronoverse, she would be renamed to Dīnā baYadabaq.

She is the first born dragon to The Father of the Dragons (Yadabaq). The darkness clothed her with fearsomeness but Nabu was a constant thorn in her side and described as the one who tramples the lion-dragon. From her the black dragons emerged and ruled over all other dragons in the Cult of Dragons. She was appointed as a member of The Arkh in Šamym and was named as the Flint of God, for the fire she could ignite.

In the times of Tahom, her twin brother Anzû would be born before her to her father and mother. As the second born pair of twins of their father they would get along but have a contentious relationship, which masked their curiosity and love for each other. One was a dragon born with fire and terror, the other a bird born with fire and water. They wanted to be supportive of one another but couldn’t fully understand each other.

Zuriel, the Flint of God

Her true nature was that of fire and secret knowledge. She was a powerful one who held deep knowledge of the mysteries of creation as she existed as one of the first Theios born before the primordial beings sealed away the darkness to begin their work of creation.

It is believed that she is the leader and one who is regarded on high by the original Freemasons. They are a fraternal faction with origins tracing back to medieval stonemason guilds. They are known for their secretive rituals, symbols, and traditions. Her freemasonry followers emphasized moral and philosophical teachings, fostering community and charity among its members.

Its structure comprises local lodges governed by regional or national bodies. Throughout time they have been behind many of the conspiracy theories and secrecy. However, they primarily focus on personal development, mutual support, and community service under the guidance of their master beyond the veil.

The Judgement

In the lands of earth when the mortals feared her, she would be called by her name Ušumgallu (also spelled Ushumgallu). They called her the sukkal of the god Ninkilim, which may have been their derogatory reference to one of her allies as the name meant the Lord of Rodents.

As the Egyptians came into power she would be known as Anput (also spelled Jnpwt, Anupet, Input, Inpewt, and Yineput). She was the female counterpart of her husband, Anubis, who was known as jnpw to the Egyptians, Anput’s name ends in a feminine “t” suffix when seen as jnpwt. As the consort of Anubis, Anput is a goddess of the dead, presiding over funerals and mummification.

During the days of the Greeks, she was called Eucleia (also spelled Eukleia). She was the female personification of glory and good repute. She was known as the daughter of Hḗphaistos.

During the last kingdom of the Norse, she would take on the role of Níðhöggr (also spelled Nidhogg). Her name meant “Malice Striker”, and was a dragon who gnawed at the roots of the world tree, Yggdrasil. In historical Viking society, níð was a term for a social stigma, implying the loss of honor and the status of a villain. It was claimed that she chewed on the corpses of the inhabitants of Náströnd: those guilty of murder, adultery, and oath-breaking.

After leaving Zetalon she would take her seat as governor of Makon in the land of Qur. She would be called Dīnā, meaning “Judgement” she was seen as an angel of the seventh heaven, a Cabalistic guardian of the Torah (and wisdom itself), who taught 70 languages to souls at the dawn of creation.
