History of The Threader

The Realm-Planet of Beyt Gavah

The Threader exists outside and inside of time and the Chronoverses in a the moving realm that is presented as a planet, Beyt Gavah. It was created by the Gavah Moatzah to serve as their headquarters and home. No one knows when the realm was created it just appeared. She dwells among them constantly monitoring the movements of and knitting to heal the universe of Zetalon.

In the times of Mesopotamia they worshipped the Theader as the goddess Gula (or The Great). They saw her as a goddess of medicine, portrayed as a divine physician and midwife. She was associated with dogs, and could be depicted alongside these animals. Gula was viewed as the second highest ranked goddess after Ishtar.

Her name in their language literally meant “the great”. The common word gula could also mean “greater,” “greatest,” “former,” “capital” or “main.” Like other Mesopotamian medicine goddesses, Gula was regarded as a divine physician. She could be described as equipped with a variety of tools employed by physicians in ancient Mesopotamia, including various herbal remedies, a razor, a scalpel and a number of other knives or lancets.

Gavah Moatzah

As the Gavah Moatzah settled the universe of Zetalon and established themselves as the new primordial gods of the land, they also completed tasks that would impact the entirety of the Chronoverses by creating their own realms that existed outside of time. They created a space for The Threader on Beyt Gavah and she appeared to join them in their goals.

She is one of six entities that appeared out of nowhere to serve the Gavah Moatzah in their goals and needs. The Threader was placed at Beyt Gavah and placed in charge of healing the universe. The Scribe who was placed in the realm of Natsar to record all of time and space. The Maalik was placed in charge of the dead in the realm of Kur. The Gifter was placed in charge of granting wishes and lived in the realm of Kur. The Warden was placed in charge of Beyt-Kele to maintain order across the Chronoverse. The Dreamer who was placed in charge of the realm of Dreams.

The Weaver of Destiny

When the planet of Beyt Gavah arrived in the era of the ancients they would call her Ninlil. As Ninlil she was considered the Lady of Heaven. She was the goddess responsible for declaring destinies, similar to Enlil. At an early date Ninlil was referred to as the goddess name of Sud. Nisaba, the goddess of writing, and her husband Ḫaya are described as her parents. However, this claim is unfounded. As the partner of Enlil, she was believed to be responsible for similar spheres of life, and stood on the top of the pantheon alongside him. Like him, she was believed to be in charge of the determination of fates, and in a few inscriptions even takes precedence over him in this role.

When the Egyptians rose to power she would take on the name of Shai (also spelled Šai, Shay, or Psais) in their region. She was the goddess of the concept of fate in the Egyptian annals. As the goddess of fate, it was said that she determined the span of each mortal’s life, and was present at the judgement of the soul of the deceased in the Duat. Her name reflects her function, as it means (that which is ) ordained.

The Greeks would worship her under the name of Moirai, known as the Fates, and was the personifications of destiny. She was seen as three parts Clotho (the spinner), Lachesis (the allotter), and Atropos (the inevitable). By the Romans she was referred to as Parcae. Her role was to ensure that every being, mortal and divine, lived out their destiny as it was assigned to them by the laws of the universe. For mortals, this destiny spanned their entire lives and was represented as a thread spun from a spindle. Generally, she was considered to be above even the gods in her role as an enforcer of fate.

By the Celtic people she wasc called Máire (also spelled Maria), the goddess of fate. Records of her in this role have been destroyed, but the three faucets of her were called Ériu, Banba, and Fódla.

However, when the last kingdom rose she would be called the Norns and was responsible for shaping the course of human destinies. In the tales, her three faces: Urðr (Wyrd), Verðandi, and Skuld draw water from their sacred well to nourish the tree at the center of the cosmos and prevent it from rot. She was described in her three-fold form as powerful maiden giantesses (Jötunns) whose arrival from Jötunheimr ended the golden age of the gods.
