History of Matilda Beck
Youth as a District Girl
Matilda Beck was born on the planet of Voluptas in Zetalon after the collapse of the Chronoverse. The only life she knew was that of the Pleasure District. When she was a toddler her parents sold her to the Pleasure District and she was taken in by Damien Leblanc’s people. She was raised by them and did cleaning around the brothel houses and dorms like the other girls who were ten years old and younger.
However, she thankfully did not have to experience the duties of the older District Girls since she turned eleven years old right before they were rescued. Over the years she bonded with two other girls, Elin Blackburn and Leilani Sandoval, three of them became sisters with one another.
Her older sister made a deal with Misthara officers, Rickshaw and Huntress. In exchange for their testimony and help they would be taken to safety. Rickshaw and Huntress brought them to Rickshaw’s cousin at the Athenaeum where they were protected while the raids of Voluptas occurred and the time after. She enjoyed being able to live the normal life of a student and attending classes and began to see Rickshaw as a father like figure.
Rickshaw was childfree by choice but took on an important role in the girls’ lives once they were rescued by him and Huntress. Each girl viewed him different. Matilda viewed him as a father figure, Leilani viewed him as a romantic interest she had a crush on, and Elin saw him as a cool uncle she could go to when she needed someone to talk to or hang out with.
The Bright Student
After moving to Elam and living with Stacy Tao, Matilda began to attend sixth grade classes at their local primary school. She enjoyed being able to live the life of a normal student and making new friends, being away from drunks and the people of Voluptas.
It was found by her teachers that she had enhanced intelligence and was a very bright young girl. However, her studies were interrupted when they hade to move the children to the Shadowlands to protect her sister, Elin.
She began to attend the new private school near where they were staying but she had a harder time making friends and the people of the school were super intellectual that she felt average compared to them. This caused her to start hanging out with the wrong people at her primary school so she could feel less stressed and like she fit in.
