History of Fryderyk Manor
The First Shade
Fryderyk Manor was created on the planet of Shadowlands in Khashak before the collapse of the Chronoverse. He was the first male Shade or Black Coat that Gleubh decided to create and his wife was the first female Shade that was created. They were formed from the shadows and imbued with the souls of a warriors who died in another universe. The more powerful a Shade is the more humanlike they look and the less powerful the more like a shadow on the ground they appear.
He has one biological daughter who was born after the creation of Zetalon. The three of them lead the Shades and protect the home of their master on Shadowlands and all those who are granted refuge. As the first Shade, Fryderyk, he holds a stronger tie to those who are direct and purer bloodlines to Gleubh and can sense their presence no matter where they are.
Even though Shades don’t actually need to sleep they do choose to meditate at night to process their day. Which is also how his daughter, Fersefone, has been able to sneak out at night to fraternize with their opposite, a Shining, during the Night Circus. However, at the same time her father isn’t as uptight as she thinks and he doesn’t have a problem with the Night Circus since he’s the main sponsor of it.
Light vs Dark
Existence likes to balance itself. When Gleubh created the first Shade, he as a result created the first Shining, Calum Mason, a being of pure light. When he created his wife he created her light counterpart, Meklit, as a biproduct. Thus making siblings for each Shade who are their opposite.
When a Shade or a Shining has a natural birth of their own child then an opposite is not created. However, when Gleubh creates his creatures then the natural order of things spawns a light opposite for them.
This is a fact that Fryderyk and Glaudine have hidden from the Shades so they don’t look too far into the truth of their and their counterparts existence. Even hiding it from their own daughter.
