History of Baldur Odinson
A War of Air and Water
Baldur Odinson was born in the Šamym realm after the creation of the Chronoverse. He is one of the last children born to Óðinn (Yahayah) and Frigg (Yasharah). He was an arrogant boy due to his invulnerability thanks to the deals his mother made on his behalf with all of creation. However, all he wished for was the ability to be able to die in battle like his siblings would one day.
He was also called Balder, Baldr, Bældæġ, and Balðraz. His name meant brave, defiant, hero, great man, lord, and prince. However, what man wouldn’t be brave when they could not be killed by anything in known existence. Nonetheless, he would merge the families of Yahayah and Yadabaq by marrying Nanna (Yaāṣab Leubh), and from them was born Forseti. Baldur had the greatest ship ever built, Hringhorni, and there is no place more beautiful than his hall, Breidablik.
Baldur the Beloved
Baldur, the beloved son of Odin (the Allfather) and Frigg (the goddess of love and motherhood), began having troubling dreams that foretold his death. These dreams worried both him and the gods of Asgard because he was highly cherished by everyone in the divine realm.
Frigg, his mother, was deeply concerned about the safety of her son. To protect him, she traveled across all of creation and secured oaths from every object and living being, asking them to vow that they would never harm Baldur. She obtained promises from metals, stones, plants, animals, fire, water, and even diseases. As a result, he became immune to all harm—nothing in creation could wound him.
However, Frigg overlooked one small plant: mistletoe. She considered it too young, weak, or insignificant to pose a threat, thus she simply forgot to secure its promise.
