History of Adelina Hayes
Down with the Patriarchy
Adelina Hayes was born on the planet of Earth-3.13 in Transylvania before the collapse of the Chronoverse. She grew up in the lands of Scotland as the child of a Duke and Duchess. As a young child she was just as adorable as her brother and the fathers of the boys in the region began making offers to Duke Hayes even before she turned eight years old.
However, her brother advocated with their father to not let her marry until someone who has the ear of the Vampire Lord, Masef de Matthecourt, submitted a proposal. Their father saw this as a great idea as it would elevate their house to a new status. He even tried offering her to Lord de Matthecourt, who was not interested in the offer.
When she turned ten her brother joined the Crown’s guard and she began to form a crush on him over his stories. By the time she turned thirteen she had a following of boys that would do anything for her attention and she had a twisted sense of humor. She used to manipulate them into doing things for her entertainment. Since most of the boys were of a lower station than her family anytime they reported it her father would make a deal with the parents so she didn’t have to face the consequences.
Penance of Youth
Adelina Hayes is part of the reason for why her brother, Cephas Hayes, didn’t marry who their father arranged for him. She caught Melanie Vandershine having sex in the barn with one of the servants. However, she had been trying to find a way to help her brother get out of the engagement since first finding out about it.
Sadly, her choices as a young girl would be the nail in their family’s house. After their father died, her brother would be promoted to the role of Duke. However, they would find out only a few years after that the same person she got in trouble was now the Lady of their region and wife of Lord de Matthecourt who they had pledged their allegiance to.
Lady Mel didn’t do anything to directly harm them but she did enjoy toying with the Dukedom of Hayes. Once the nobles of the region were invited over for dinner and Lady Mel had the chefs serve Adelina a plate of dog feces. To maintain face for her family she was forced to eat it.
